Dichen was born February 22, 1982 in Kathmandu, Nepal. However, she grew up in Australia and studied at the University of Adelaide. Lachman moved to California to pursue her career in acting. She played for example in Lust for Love, The 100, and Agents of SHIELD. In 2018, Netflix show Altered Carbon skyrocketed her fame.

My father’s from Australia and my mother was born in India, but she’s actually Tibetan. I was born in Katmandu, lived there until I was eight, and then moved to Australia with my mother and father. So yeah, I’m very mixed up, been to many different schools.

I do paint, and I wanted to actually be a painter. Sometimes I’ll whip out paints. It’s tough to find the motivation, but it’s also a solitary, lonely occupation. What I like about acting is that it is such a collaborative thing.
